Description:

This Oxford Center for Islamic Studies Scholarships (OCISS) has been established by the Oxford Center for Islamic Studies to allow graduates to pursue study of benefit to the Muslim world.

Target group:

British Muslim students and Muslim students from selected developing countries in Asia and Africa

Scholarship value/inclusions:

100% of university and college fees and a grant for living costs (sufficient to cover your living costs in Oxford

Eligibility:

The Scholarship is open to applicants who are ordinarily resident in the United Kingdom and from Muslim communities. Students who are ordinarily resident in the following countries in Asia and Africa are also eligible:

Afghanistan, Albania, Algeria, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Benin, Brunei, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Chad, Comoros, Egypt, Djibouti, Gabon, Gambia, Guinea, Guyana, Indonesia, India, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Libya, Malaysia, Maldives, Mali, Mauritania, Morocco, Mozambique, Niger, Nigeria, Oman, Pakistan, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Somalia, Sudan, Suriname, Syrian Arab Republic, Tajikistan, Togo, Tunisia, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Uganda, United Arab Emirates, Uzbekistan and Yemen Arab Republic.

You should be applying to start a new full-time graduate course at Oxford.  Please ensure that you meet the selection criteria for your course.

You should be intending to return to your country of ordinary residence upon completion of your course of studies.

Apply at the same time as you apply to Oxford by selecting Oxford Center for Islamic Studies Scholarships in the Funding Section of the University’s Graduate Application Form.  You must submit your application for graduate study by the relevant January deadline for your course (10 January 2014 for Medical Sciences, Philosophy, Politics & International Relations and Computer Science; 24 January 2014 for all other subjects).

The University of Edinburgh will offer 40 Master’s scholarships for postgraduate Master’s programme in any subject offered by the University for the 2014-2015 academic sessions.  The scholarships will be awarded to students who are accepted for admission on a full-time basis.

Scholarship value/inclusions:

Fifteen (15) scholarships will have a value of £5,000 each while a further twenty-five (25) scholarships will have a value of £3,000 which will be tenable for one academic year.

Eligibility:

The scholarships will be awarded to students who are nationals of countries outside the EU who are accepted for admission on a full-time basis for a postgraduate Master’s programme of study at the University of Edinburgh.

The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of academic merit. Candidates must have, or expect to obtain, the overseas equivalent of a UK first-class honors’ degree.

Application instructions:

Applicants should already have been offered a place at the University of Edinburgh and should have firmly accepted that offer or be intending to do so. The closing date for applications for theses scholarships is 1 April 2014.

Description: 

The Leiden University Excellence Scholarship Programme (LExS) is open to outstanding Non-EU/EEA students pursuing a master’s degree programme at Leiden University.

All MA, MSc and LL.M programmes as mentioned on the website Master’s programmes in Leiden, a number of programs have a start date in September only.

Target group:

The scholarship programme is intended for international candidates  from Non-EU/EEA students showing the highest achievements and promise for a master’s degree study.

Scholarship value/inclusions:

The Leiden University Excellence Scholarship programme has 5 awards:

• Platinum Covers the tuition fee minus the home fee* and an allowance of €10,000 for living costs

• Gold covers the tuition fee minus the home fee*

• Silver Covers 75% of the tuition fee

• Bronze Covers 50% of the tuition fee

• Ivory Covers 25 % of the tuition fee

The maximum study period is 12 months (1-year programme) or 24 months (2-year programme).

Important Note: Students should be aware that the LExS is not a full scholarship. It is necessary to find additional funding to be able to finance their study and stay completely.  Leiden University advises a budget, not including the tuition fee, of approx. €10,000 to €14,000 per year to cover the costs for rent, insurance, living expenses, course books and local transportation.

Eligibility:

• Non-EU/EEA students enrolling in a Leiden University master’s degree programme

• In his or her prior academic education abroad, the applicant must have achieved excellent study results which are relevant for the programme for which the student wishes to enroll. As an indication, the student will be among the top 10% for the relevant programme followed abroad

• The applicant will hold a non-EU/EEA passport and will not be eligible for support under the Dutch system of study grants and loans

• Scholarships will not be awarded to applicants who have already obtained a Leiden University master’s degree

• Students who are granted a Leiden Excellence Scholarship must comply with and confirm in writing their agreement with the terms and conditions (pdf) attached to the scholarship prior to the granting of the scholarship.

Application instructions:

When applying for admissions, indicate clearly that you would like to apply for the LExS scholarship on the application form.  You should attach a letter of motivation (in Word) of a maximum of 500 words, in which you indicate why you believe you should be considered for this scholarship. For programmes starting in September 2014, the deadline is 1 February 2014.

• Already hold an offer to start a full-time Masters degree programme (including MRes) at Nottingham in September 2014in an area of study within the Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Medicine & Health Sciences, Faculty of Science, School of Geography – courses related to the area of Environment, Institute for Science & Society – courses related to the area of Science, Business School – courses allied to Operations Management.

Application instructions:

Only students who have been offered a place of study at Nottingham University are eligible for this scholarship. Application for admission to study at Nottingham must be received at least 3 weeks before the scholarship closing date to allow time for our Admissions office to process the application and confirm your offer, before you can apply for the scholarship.  The closing date for applications is 25 April 2014.
